Thin Line Between: Paranormal – Psychological.

I read a magazine this morning, one article contributor described genius people and retards are all in the same group – “abnormal”. I figured he is right, anything that goes above and below the limit is “not normal”. However, apart from being normal and not normal, there is also something called “special” which means undefined beyond any circumstances, and “ordinary” plainly states as the opposite of the latter.

Confusing? No. To make it simple; A kid 5 years old, started pre-schooling at the age of 4. He already knows how to read and write at present – reads and writes like a 1st grader. Parents swore they did not get a private tutor to get the kid ahead in class. The kid is healthy physically, EQ (emotional quotient) is below average, IQ (intellectual quotient) is high. So how can we characterize the kid? Having Low EQ and High IQ poses different human behavior. If you have High or Average EQ, then your logic and reflex is reasonable, you deal with people, you don’t seclude yourself and hide your feelings and opinions on things, or you don’t talk “just” to yourself and trust only yourself, you don’t blow up so suddenly and never keep grudges too long enough to kill someone. Thus, your level of IQ is balanced, if it’s low then it “can be” resolved with nutrition and more exposure to intellectual stuff i.e books, magazines, travel, and the like. On the other hand, if the EQ is low or below average, medications and therapy, sometimes rehabilitation is required, depending on the inflicting damage one person can do to himself or his environment. People with Low/Below average EQ can sometimes be high or averaged in IQ simply because they are more focused. They need to be focused and can be too focused at times. It has something to do with their inability to express their thoughts externally, they seek and find answers themselves, they don’t ask. They don’t talk about it so they find answers and more often than not – they don’t get instant satisfaction on answers that they seek. It is also because Low EQ’s have low self – esteem, they find ways to cover insecurity and focus only on their strengths – which most of the time is their intelligence. The kid can be defined with some medical term i.e ADHD, autism. We cannot diagnose it because we are not experts or specialists. Although it can be generalized. To some extent, people who are like this on an “advanced state” – seeing signs of depressions, bipolar or extreme personalities (easily get mad and easily gets happy, or can be so overly happy now then in one second so overly sad – depending on conditions), talks to themselves and can be very keen on communicating with other things i.e pets, nature, spirits or supernaturals, cults or religion instead of relating to people and actual things or reality. Are people who are “special or abnormal” be classified with Paranormal or just Psychological? This article came from Wikipedia;

Paranormal is a general term (coined ca. 1915–1920[1][2]) that designates experiences that lie outside “the range of normal experience orscientific explanation[3] or that indicates phenomena understood to be outside of science’s current ability to explain or measure.[1][4]Paranormal phenomena are distinct from certain hypothetical entities, such as dark matter and dark energy, only insofar as paranormal phenomena are inconsistent with the world as already understood through empirical observation coupled with scientific methodology.[5]

Thousands of stories relating to paranormal phenomena are found in popular culturefolklore, and the recollections of individual subjects.[6] In contrast, the scientific community, as referenced in statements made by organizations such as the United States National Science Foundation, maintains that scientific evidence does not support a variety of beliefs that have been characterized as paranormal.[7]

Anything that Science or Psychology cannot explain or does not have basis or facts is considered Paranormal or can be one of a Mental Disorder (From Personality to Developmental Class) i.e Schizophrenia, OCD‘s, ADHD, Paranoia etc. For further definition on Mental Disorders/Psychological, check Wiki. Below is how it’s defined;

mental disorder or mental illness is a psychological pattern, potentially reflected in behavior, that is generally associated with distressor disability, and which is not considered part of normal development of a person’s culture. Mental disorders are generally defined by a combination of how a person feelsactsthinks or perceives. This may be associated with particular regions or functions of the brain or rest of the nervous system, often in a social context. The recognition and understanding of mental health conditions have changed over time and across cultures, and there are still variations in definition, assessment and classification, although standard guideline criteria are widely used. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), over a third of people in most countries report problems at some time in their life which meet criteria for diagnosis of one or more of the common types of mental disorder.[1]

It’s a thin line. Science is good, it provides terms and definitions on certain things. They follow pattern, studies and research – data, which is very essential specially if we are talking about an individual’s condition and life. But what about Paranormal? It’s not a fault, or sickness. It can be tolerated, managed and explored the same way Science do. It takes extra attention and understanding though, all because of the thin line between being paranormal or psycho. Either way, treatment, management and acceptance is the same. You see a fairy or a ghost in the modern society – you are crazy. If you cannot control your 3rd eye capabilities and shouts at no one – you go to a Sanitarium or Mental Institution. When you say you talk to the devil and is astral projecting when sleeping – you get raised eyebrows and a twisted finger sign. Another development – they say those who are able to write books that require too much imagination and math i.e Lord of The Rings, Da Vinci Code, and Harry Potter etc., can be considered “special” too. All I know is in order for you to write something well defined, uncharacteristic, and original – you are either the one telling the story, you are the story, and you are the character – or at least think so and feel so. If you ever heard of the Crystal Children and the Indigo Children – it’s a Paranormal Term. Indigo’s have the aura of Indigo or blue, the Crystals have scattered prism of colors and is like crystalline. Dr Doreen Virtue’s book and article identifies leaders of the world, inventors, philosophers and the continuity of their work through the generations of these children;

 The Indigo Children have been incarnating on the Earth for the last 100 years. The early Indigos were pioneers and wayshowers. After World War II, a significant number were born, and these are the Indigo adults of today. However, in the 1970s a major wave of Indigos was born, and so we have a whole generation of Indigos who are now in their late twenties and early thirties who are about to take their place as leaders in the world. Indigos continued to born up to about 2000, with increasing abilities and degrees of technological and creative sophistication.

The Crystal Children began to appear on the planet from about 2000, although some date them slightly earlier. These are extremely powerful children, whose main purpose is to take us to the next level in our evolution, and reveal to us our inner power and divinity. They function as a group consciousness rather than as individuals, and they live by the” Law of One” or Unity Consciousness. They are a powerful force for love and peace on the planet.

The Indigo and Crystal Adults are composed of two groups. Firstly, there are those who were born as Indigos and are now making the transition to Crystal. This means they undergo a spiritual and physical transformation that awakens their “Christ” or “Crystal” consciousness and links them with the Crystal children as part of the evolutionary wave of change. The second group is those who were born without these qualities, but have acquired or are in the process of acquiring them through their own hard work and the diligent following of a spiritual path. Yes, this means that all of us have the potential to be part of the emerging group of “human angels”.

This is how the Author Dr. Doreen Virtue describes one;

Her article is quoted as;

The first thing most people notice about Crystal Children is their eyes, large, penetrating, and wise beyond their years. Their eyes lock on and hypnotize you, while you realize your soul is being laid bare for the child to see. Perhaps you’ve noticed this special new “breed” of children rapidly populating our planet. They are happy, delightful and forgiving. This generation of new lightworkers, roughly ages 0 through 7, are like no previous generation. Ideal in many ways, they are the pointers for where humanity is headed … and its a good direction!

The older children (approximately age 7 through 25), called “indigo Children”, share some characteristics with the Crystal Children. Both generations are highly sensitive and psychic, and have important life purposes. The main difference is their temperament. Indigos have a warrior spirit, because their collective purpose is to mash down old systems that no longer serve us. They are here to quash government, educational, and legal systems that lack integrity. To accomplish this end, they need tempers and fiery determination.

Those adults who resist change and who value conformity may misunderstand the Indigos. They are often mislabeled with psychiatric diagnoses of Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Sadly, when they are medicated, the Indigos often lose their beautiful sensitivity, spiritual gifts and warrior energy……….In contrast, the Crystal Children are blissful and even-tempered. Sure, they may have tantrums occasionally, but these children are largely forgiving and easy-going. The Crystals are the generation who benefit from the Indigos trailblazing. First, the Indigo Children lead with a machete, cutting down anything that lacks integrity. Then the Crystal Children follow the cleared path, into a safer and more secure world.

The terms “Indigo” and “Crystal” were given to these two generations because they most accurately describe their aura colours and energy patterns. Indigo children have a lot of indigo blue in their auras. This is the colour of the “third eye chakra”, which is the energy center inside the head located between the two eyebrows. This chakra regulates clairvoyance, or the ability to see energy, visions, and spirits. Many of the Indigo children are clairvoyant

The Crystal Children have opalescent auras, with beautiful multi-colours in pastel hues. This generation also shows a fascination for crystals and rocks……

Clearly, there’s a lot to be told and explored in the world of Paranormal. It is something “normal or averaged” people will not deal with simply because reality is what matters – reality to us means something we feel and that we are a part of. Knowing the thin line between Paranormal and Psychological will not set boundaries on how we judge people. It is painful for them not to be understood, even more painful if they are born “special or an Indigo or crystal” without choice. Respect is very vital, judgement will only make us more stupid. It’s better to say that there’s a thin line between supernatural and being a psycho, instead of condemning one as such. I’ll share more about the Indigo and Crystal Children on my next blog.

  5. Let me get this straight. You have a very small child who shows an aptitude for learning,. He/she is quiet and introverted. And right away you label this child as having low EQ and want to put him/her on drug therapy??? Being immature – physically, emothionally, mentally, socially – is the very definition of “child”. Drawing such conclusions is unfair and dangerous to the child!
