Zen Today: Patience.

Patience makes way for tolerance and control.

Zen Today: Change.

People, situation or things cannot change without the cooperation of everyone involved. It needs to start somewhere. Sometimes, the current go against us, but we don’t let it carry us along the wrong side of the shore or deeper into the water. We don’t blame the water and the current because it’s not going the way we are going – we look into our raft or boat first, then the paddle, then maybe observe the way we row. We are probably not just doing it right, the current is always going in different directions. It is something we cannot control or blame and curse to change. We either have to get a different raft or bigger boat, or a wider paddle – or change the way we row...

Zen Today: Happiness.

As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery. We have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as anger and attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion, a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness.

Zen Today: Greatness.

It is never forced or is subject to provocation. The art of controlling and mastering when to use it, how to use it and who to use it against – is the only way to gauge power, greatness and strength. It is the balance of physical skill, mental reasoning, emotional adaptability, and logical reflex.
